The house

Three generations, one square, a kitchen that never closes.

In 1973 our family served the first pizza on Waltherplatz. The same family has run Aida ever since, and the approach hasn't changed: pasta, pizza and cakes are made in-house, fresh every day. Two generous terraces right in the centre, hot food all day, no closing day.

A plate of pasta between meetings at lunchtime, cake and coffee in the sun in the afternoon, a long dinner with a view of the cathedral in the evening.

Four worlds

One house, four reasons to come.

Restaurant

South Tyrol meets Italy in the kitchen.

Behind Aida is a large kitchen and service team serving hot food all day, all year round. On the menu, South Tyrolean and Italian cooking meet: homemade speck and spinach dumplings, potato ravioli with a seasonal filling, a juicy entrecôte or a mixed grill with fresh salad.

From late November to March the terrace in front of the restaurant becomes a heated winter garden. In the warmer months you sit on the second terrace, right on busy Waltherplatz.

Pizzeria

Italian temperament on a plate.

Thin, with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and carefully chosen toppings: Aida has been baking pizza since 1973 – the first on Waltherplatz. Hearty, spicy or vegetarian, everyone finds a favourite on the pizza menu.

We make the dough ourselves. Pizza is served all day, and to take away on request.

Patisserie

Cakes and pastries to old recipes.

For more than forty years Aida has been baking Sachertorte, Black Forest gateau and chestnut hearts to traditional recipes. We make biscuits, Zelten fruit bread, pralines and marzipan pigs by hand – from December to January also at our stall in front of the restaurant.

Our homemade apple strudel has always been a favourite, and you can take a whole one home. For weddings, birthdays and christenings we make cakes to order.

Café

Ice cream, espresso and life on the square.

In spring and summer, a day in Bolzano isn't complete without homemade ice cream – classic flavours to old recipes, with a view of the bustle on Waltherplatz. Cold drinks and freshly squeezed juices cool you down on hot days.

In the colder months we serve tea, house punch and mulled wine. And all year round: espresso, cappuccino and aperitivo, from breakfast until the evening.
